Bridge the ESX/ESXi Management Gap Using the vSphere Management Assistant (vMA) – Tips & Tricks Included
The vSphere Management Assistant (vMA), formally known as VIMA, allows administrators, engineers, consultants, architects and support personnel to configure and manage ESX classic hosts as well as ESXi using the Remote CLI, VI Perl Toolkit, etc.. vMA also includes a logging mechanism and an authentication component that supports a pre-configured non-interactive logon.
If you must have the command line interface (CLI) to run automated scripts with ESX4 classic hosts or if you are COS-less with ESX4i hosts that reside in your infrastructure then this is the session for you. We will introduce vMA, explain how it is installed (include patching it) and highlight the benefits to running this FREE appliance. In addition, we will demo the product and provide some use case scenarios with real examples taking from the field, the lab and a production environment.
