For Domestic Goddess Nigella Lawson Christmas represents everything that she loves, food, entertaining, home and family and across this three-part seasonal special Nigella brings to viewers some very special (and fun) Christmas recipes.

As always Nigella’s mantra is that cooking should be fun, if it becomes stressful then you’re not doing it right. Christmas is a great excuse to potter about in the kitchen, to slow down, take cover from the frenzy of the holiday season and realise how comforting it can be to cook.

In these three Christmas programmes Nigella lays out her philosophy for not only coping with but actively enjoying cooking during the festive season.

1×01 -The Big Freeze Food writer Nigella Lawson reveals her philosophy for coping with the stress of Christmas cooking. In the first programme she prepares festive favourites that can be made in advance and frozen, including mince pies and lamb tagine with dates and pomegranates. 1×02 – The Stocking Filler The cookery writer demonstrates how to make food-based festive gifts, including Italian bonbons and chilli jam. She also prepares a pre-Christmas brunch featuring an espresso martini, cheese and onion strata, glazed and toasted vanilla cake ‘brioche’ and an antioxidant-packed fruit salad. 1×03 – Short and Sweet The cook visits Paris to find inspiration for chocolate-based recipes, including rocky road and Christmas pavlova. She also demonstrates how to transform a rib of beef into a festive feast and prepares a Thai beef salad, as well as yuletide drinks poinsettia cocktail and spiced vodka.
