Digital Tutors – Introduction to Mudbox 2012 (with project files)

Digital Tutors – Introduction to Mudbox 2012 (with project files)
Duration: 3h 28m | Video: VP6 (.flv) 1280×720 15fps 666Kbps | Audio: MP3 44.1KHz 96Kbps | 2.09 GB
Level: Beginner
Genre: eLearning | Language: English

In this course we will go over every thing you need to know to start using Mudbox 2012.

In this series of lessons you will get a ground up look at the powerful sculpting and texture painting application, Mudbox. We will begin by taking a look at the Mudbox interface and talking about the basics of working with geometry in Mudbox. We will cover methods for getting geometry into Mudbox, how to transform it around the scene, and subdivide it in preparation for sculpting. We will proceed from there by using a project based approach to cover the sculpting and painting tools. We will also create our own Vector Displacement Maps that we can use to sculpt. We will talk about changing our tool properties to get different results and using stamps and stencils to create various looks. We will go over some on-target presentation features in Mudbox and move on to painting textures. We will cover the Mudbox paint layer functionality and talk about new features in 2012 like uv-less PTEX painting and layer masks. We will talk about the Pose tools and painting opacity maps for our meshes. We’ll finish up by talking about how Mudbox integrates with other applications like Photoshop, Maya, 3ds Max, and Softimage. This course will give you the chance to learn the ins and outs of Mudbox by going through the process with a project based approach. Once you have completed these lessons, you will be able to take what you have learned and apply it to your own work.

Digital Tutors: Creating Game Weapons in Maya and ZBrush (Included Files Project)

Digital Tutors: Creating Game Weapons in Maya and ZBrush (Included Files Project) | 948 MB
Genre: eLearning In this course we will use a Maya to ZBrush workflow to build and texture a detailed battle hammer.
When working with digital assets, the ability of your computer to manipulate those assets is limited, especially when dealing with very high resolution meshes. For this reason, we use things like normal maps to simulate the high resolution detail in a way that we can more easily use. In this course, we’ll use a weathered battle hammer as an example to illustrate some of the ways you can use Maya and ZBrush together to build and sculpt high resolution props and set pieces and create useable assets. After building the base geometry and laying out UVs in Maya, we’ll go through the process of sculpting and texturing the hammer in ZBrush. We’ll finish up by applying all of that detail back in Maya to create a high quality, useable prop.

Digital Tutors Vray Hypershade Nodes in Maya 2011

Digital Tutors Vray Hypershade Nodes in Maya 2011 | 503 MB

In this collection of lessons we will be exploring several of the V-Ray rendering nodes that can be found in Maya’s Hypershade.

These Hypershade nodes can be used to create a variety of effects and many of these nodes provide us a number of additional controls over our V-Ray renders. For example, we will be taking an in-depth look at a number of nodes that can be used individually or used together to create a variety of surface material types that obey real-world laws of optics. We will also learn a variety of methods for adding volumetric effects to our renders, creating subsurface scattering materials, using geometry as a direct illumination source, along with many other lessons dedicated to the various V-Ray nodes found in Maya’s Hypershade.
Runtime: 2 hrs. 5 min.
Software: V-Ray for Maya 1.5SP1 and higher, Maya 2011 and higher
Release Date: 12/01/2010

Digital Tutors – Introduction to Maya 2011
English | VP6F 782×646 | MP3 96 Kbps | 3.40 GB
Genre: eLearning

In this series of lessons, we will help you get a strong understanding of Maya and how it works. You’ll get the chance to work with many of the other Maya instructors here at Digital-Tutors who will show you how to use some of the major components of Maya.

In this course, we’ll start by giving you the foundational skills and vocabulary you’ll need in order to move around within Maya, and then we’ll jump right into the Modeling section of the course. After completing the Modeling section, you’ll get the chance try your hand at Texturing, Rigging, Animation, Dynamics, and finally, Lighting and Rendering your own animation. Our goal is not to weigh you down with technical information, but rather to help you form really good habits so you can have a successful future using Maya.

Digital Tutors – Working with Tables in InDesign CS5
Proj files incl | 10/01/2010 | 451 mb

In this series of lessons we’ll focus on Working with Tables in InDesign.

We’ll begin by breaking down the structure of a table and learning how to navigate and select it’s different parts. Next we’ll learn how to create a table both from scratch as well as from data created in Microsoft word or excel. From there we’ll learn about headers and footers then move on to the different types of content we can place into a table. We’ll wrap things up by learning how to edit the structure of a table and how to control both the stroke and fill attributes for various parts of the table. After going through this course, you’ll have a good understanding of how to build and customize tables in InDesign.

1. Introduction and project overview
2. InDesign table overview
3. Table creation basics
4. Importing tables into InDesign
5. Creating and managing headers and footers
6. Adding content to a table
7. Beginning to edit our table
8. Continuing to edit our table
9. Customizing stroke and fill attributes for our table
10. Fine tuning our table

In this course we'll cover a wide range of topics in order to get you quickly up to speed using 3ds Max 2011. In this course we are going to help you get a good understanding of how to work in 3ds Max.You will be able to learn from several of the instructors here at Digital Tutors as we go through many of the major parts of the software. We are going to cover a wide range of topics in this course. We will start out exploring the user interface and finding our way around 3ds Max. Then we will start to create our own custom model, a pod racer, using a number of powerful modeling tools. We will paint and texture our model, and then take it through the process of rigging and animation. We will finish up by adding dynamic effects to the scene and rendering out a nice result. Once you are finished, you will have exposure to a wide range of disciplines in 3ds Max and be able to start working on your own projects and building on the knowledge you have gained.

English | VP6F 782×646 | MP3 96 kbps | 240 MB
Genre: eLearning

In this collection of lessons we will learn about prop animation.

This course covers tools and techniques for animating props in Maya. We’ll discuss methods that are animator-friendly for prop animation. We’ll learn how to animate constrained objects, how to blend smoothly between our space-switches as we keyframe a constraint’s weight, and we’ll even explore at technique for switching between spaces with no offset. At the end of this course, you’ll have the knowledge you need to overcome the challenges of prop animation.

Lesson Outline (5 lessons)

1. Introduction and project overview
2. How to approach prop animation
