Using Integrated Storage and vSphere Management to Improve Performance and Provide Ease-of-Use

Using Integrated Storage and vSphere Management to Improve Performance and Provide Ease-of-UseUsing Integrated Storage and vSphere Management to Improve Performance and Provide Ease-of-Use
Learn how fully automated storage tiering (FAST) for virtually provisioned (VP) storage arrays and tight integration between the vSphere Client interface and existing storage management tools can deliver maximum efficiencies, improve overall performance, and provide ease-of-use for common storage provisioning operations.
FAST VP builds on the original version of FAST, providing dramatically increased capacity utilization and performance improvements through automated placement of active data on tiers that can deliver the desired level of performance, reducing response time and better serving the most active datastores. Also learn how tight integration between hosts, clusters and storage can be used to provision new datastores with just a few clicks from within the familiar vSphere user interface.
A demonstration of in-context storage provisioning operations will be provided. In addition, by providing support for VMware vStorage APIs, I/O intensive tasks like copying virtual machine disk files, or sets of files, can be offloaded to array devices for efficient processing, resulting in faster virtual machine initialization and cloning operations.
