Optimizing Virtualization Using Advance Memory and Storage Technology

Optimizing Virtualization Using Advance Memory and Storage Technology
The semiconductor landscape is being transformed by a rapidly increasing focus on energy-efficiency for the data center environment.
Today’s action phrase for data center efficiency is ‘power savings’ and “virtualization”, herein we’ll explain how advanced memory and storage technologies significantly optimize virtual infrastructures. Unquestionably, the need for a green technology ecosystem is real and 30nm 1.35V DDR3, the most advanced server memory technology today, is leading the way, while high performance solid state drives continue to grow into the IT infrastructure.
During this presentation Samsung will closely examine the performance improvements and other key benefits and metrics of Samsung’s Green DDR3 and SSD technology. In so doing, we will highlight the efficiencies achieved when optimally combining process geometry, low voltage high performance and high density and their benefits in a highly virtualized environment. The session will show that the quality and amount of memory and storage chosen to drive highly virtualized environments is as important as the platform.
